The University of Ilorin has taken disciplinary action against students who were involved in various offenses, as announced through the Unilorin Bulletin on Monday, April 1, 2024.

The disciplinary actions imposed on the students varied, with some being rusticated for either one semester or one academic session, while others faced expulsion.

The students faced penalties for different acts of misconduct, including theft, hostel racketeering and extortion, examination malpractice, assault, admission racketeering, and extortion. These offences were committed by students in different academic levels, ranging from 100L to 400L.

Among the expelled students, according to the statement, were Amatokwu Evans from the Department of Art Education (200L), Nwachukwu Chinedu Joshua from the Department of Biochemistry (400L), Oshinboluro Temitope Joshua from the Mathematics Department (400L), Sulaimon Mayowa from Biochemistry (200L), and Okanle Oluwatimileyin Samuel from the Physiotherapy Department (300L).

The expelled students were found guilty of alleged involvement in examination malpractices, theft, hostel racketeering and extortion, as well as admission racketeering and extortion.

Additionally, some students faced rustication as a consequence of their actions. Among those rusticated were Adebayo Adeleke from the Performing Arts Department, Hassan Hanan Adebola from History and International Studies, Ayodele Samuel Koseunti from History and International Studies, Toki Opeyemi Ayomide from History and International Studies, and Makinde Usman Ayomide from Linguistic and Nigerian Language.

The management remains committed to maintaining a high standard of discipline and ethical conduct among its students, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all.
