On October 16, 2023, a seven-member team led by Taofeek Alata embarked on a transformative mission to enhance education at Tanke Community Primary School, Ilorin. Sponsored by Youth Day of Service (YDoS) and Leap Africa, the initiative aimed to improve the quality of education by distributing essential learning materials to over 120 students.
The project not only provided much-needed resources but also sought to ignite a passion for learning among young minds. Through strategic partnerships and meaningful engagement with students and teachers, Taofeek Alata and his team demonstrated their commitment to fostering educational development.
The changemakers, including Oloyede Olagoke, Adeshina Muiz, Saidat Lamina, Madumere Emmanuel, Shuaib Faridat, and Akanni Rukayat, exemplified the project’s theme of being “Youthful and Useful.” Their dedication underscores the impact young people can have in shaping the future through meaningful advocacy and community service.
The Headmistress of Tanke Community Primary School commended the effort, stating, “This is a great initiative that complements the Kwara State government’s commitment to providing quality education and improving the learning environment for children.”
This initiative serves as a reminder of the power of youth engagement in driving positive change and supporting the vision of accessible, quality education for all.
