

In what appears to be a tragedy, a truck conveying laterite accidentally crushed one of the three students of the institution to death yesterday, leaving two others with severe injuries.
However, this medium gathered that one out of the two students hospitalized lost his life in the early hours of today. This sad development leads to a peaceful protest by the students of Kwara State Polytechnic.
In a recent development, it was reported that the school management issued a circular announcing two days of lecture-free time for students and staff of the school to mourn the loss of the deceased students.
“The Rector, Engr, Abdul Jimoh Muhammed on behalf of the Managementofthe Polytechnic has declared two-day lecture free for students of the Polytechnisbetween today Wednesday 17″ and tomorrow Thursday. 18” January, 2024, to mourn the souls of our beloved departed students. Similarly, the Management has declared today 17th January as half work day for all staff with the exception of those on essential services.
The Rector on behalf of the Management hereby condoles with both the families of the departed and the entire Polytechnic Community over the unfortunate incident. The Polytechnic therefore prayed that the Almighty will grant their souls eternal rest and give us all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Thank you.
