— 24 transformers, 100 cows, others distributed

Distinguished Senator Saliu Mustapha made history with an extraordinary mega empowerment program tagged “Albarka 1.0” led for the good people of Kwara Central. This event marked a significant milestone, as it was reported that the total worth of the assistance provided exceeded five billion naira, an unprecedented figure in the history of any poverty alleviation empowerment in the history of Kwara State.

The empowerment ceremony took place in the premises of the Lower Niger River Basin, drawing the attention and attendance of several prominent figures from the National Assembly. Esteemed guests included Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President; Senator Lola Ashiru, the Deputy Senate Leader; Senator Tahir Mogunu, the Chief Whip; Senator Ajibola Bashir, the APC National Secretary; and Senator Abubakar Kyar, the Minister of Agriculture.

During the mega empowerment, a diverse group of beneficiaries from the four local government areas of Kwara Central received an impressive array of items designed to uplift their livelihoods. Among the valuable donations were 20 tractors, 30 brand-new cars, 55 tricycle trucks, and 400 chest freezers. In addition, the program provided essential infrastructure and resources, including 24 transformers, large quantities of rice, livestock such as cows, sewing machines, and numerous other valuable goods aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs, artisans, and traders.

In a heartfelt address, Senator Barau Jibrin praised Senator Mutapha’s generosity and commitment to his constituents. “The people of Kwara Central are fortunate to have Turaki,” he remarked. “He is consistently concerned about the welfare of his people. In fact, he recently approached Senator Lola Ashiru to discuss another vital project for the residents of Kwara Central. I had no idea that this empowerment initiative would be so extensive. I am truly fulfilled and satisfied with the impact it will have. Therefore, I hereby pledge an additional 200 sewing machines to support Senator Saliu’s efforts,” Barau concluded.

On his part, Senator Oyelola Issa Ashiru (Kwara South) eulogizes his colleague for the mega empowerment; he acknowledged that distinguished Senator Saliu is passionate about the lives of his people, and he pleads to beneficiaries to make good use of the items.

Senator Saliu Mustapha who doubles as the host appreciates the leadership of Ilorin Emirate under the leadership of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Baloguns, the council of Ulamas, and all other contributors for always supporting him, he equally appreciates governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for changing the face of Kwara with the commission of projects recently, Saliu admonished the good people of Kwara central to remain resolute in their pursuit for dividends of democracy, he assures his continuous dedication towards changing the lives of his constituents.
