Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, effective September 6, 2024.
The governor made this known in a statement released on Friday night.
The committees, which were originally formed on June 9, 2023, were meant to serve for six months.
However, their tenures were extended multiple times before ending on Friday.
According to the statement signed by Dr. Gyang Bere, the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 local government areas have been instructed to oversee local government administration until elections on October 9, 2024.
“Governor Mutfwang commended the Transition Committee Chairmen for their exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing developmental projects that have directly impacted their communities.
“He expressed pride in their accomplishments and urged them to continue offering valuable counsel to promote peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Plateau State,” the statement read. Governor Mutfwang applauded the Transition Committee Chairmen for their exemplary leadership and contributions to community development.
