National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kwara State Council gets Caretaker Committee for the State Chapter. This follows the automatic expiration of the tenure of the Comrade Ali Nasiru Yusuf-led State Executive Council on Tuesday, 18th April 2023.

The newly appointed Caretaker Committee, inaugurated by the Vice President (North Central) of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Amb. Akoshile Mukhtar comprises distinguished youth leaders representin

g the three senatorial zones of Kwara State. These individuals have been selected based on their proven track records in youth engagement, leadership, and community development.

The members of the committee are:

Hon. AbdulKareem AbdulKareem – Chairman (Kwara Central)

A foremost youth leader in Kwara State, AbdulKareem, is known for his charisma, dedication, and passion for youth development. His leadership qualities and antecedents in youth engagement are well-recognized and widely acknowledged across the state. As a member of the Nigerian Youth Parliament (4th Assembly), he has demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges facing young people and has actively championed initiatives that empower and uplift youth across various platforms. His experience and vision make him the ideal leader to guide the caretaker committee during this transitional period.

Comrade Adebayo Kayode – Secretary (Kwara South)

A respected figure in student leadership, Comrade Adebayo Kayode has a wealth of experience in youth mobilization, activism, and advocacy. His dedication to the cause of students and youth across Nigeria has earned him respect among his peers. His organizational skills and ability to unite young people for a common purpose will be invaluable in ensuring the effectiveness of the committee.

Comrade Nurudeen Nura Muhammed – Public Relations Officer (Kwara North)

Known for his exceptional skills in communication and youth engagement, Comrade Nurudeen Nura Muhammed has consistently used his platform to advocate for youth inclusion and empowerment. As a key player in student leadership, he brings a strong understanding of the dynamics of youth mobilization and community outreach, making him well-suited to serve as the voice of the caretaker committee and the youth of Kwara North.

The Caretaker Committee’s primary responsibility is to oversee the affairs of the Kwara State Council of the NYCN, ensuring a smooth transition until the next elections are conducted. This interim leadership is expected to uphold the values of accountability, transparency, and inclusiveness, focusing on fostering unity and advancing the interests of young people across the state.

Amb. Akoshile Mukhtar, in his remarks, expressed full confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver on their mandate. He emphasized the importance of continuity and urged the newly inaugurated committee to build on the achievements of the outgoing leadership while working diligently to address the evolving needs of Kwara’s youth.

He also acknowledged the outgoing executive, led by Comrade Ali Nasiru Yusuf, for their invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the council during their tenure. Their efforts have set a solid foundation for future leadership to build upon.This caretaker committee represents a diverse and experienced group of youth leaders who possess a deep understanding of youth mobilization, empowerment, and advocacy.
