The Kwara State chapter of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) held an educational outreach at Government Girls Day School, Pakata, earlier today, distributing over 1,000 learning materials to young girls.
The materials included notebooks, mathematical sets, pens, and backpacks, aimed at supporting students facing academic challenges due to a lack of resources.
Comrade Buraimoh Abiola Temitope, Chairperson of NFSAN Kwara, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that it was designed to help girls overcome barriers to education.
She acknowledged the economic difficulties affecting the families of the students, assuring them that NFSAN is committed to their academic success. “Our goal is for every girl in Kwara to thrive academically,” she said, urging the students to stay focused on their studies.
She further emphasized the importance of education, stating, “Every girl deserves quality education to realise her dreams.”
Comrade Abisoye Sidiqat Taiwo, the Public Relations Officer of NFSAN Kwara, addressed the significance of personal hygiene, encouraging the girls to prioritize cleanliness. Comrade Abdulrofiu Khadijat, Welfare Director of the association, reinforced this message by reminding the students that health is essential in pursuing their goals and ambitions.
The Vice Principal of the school expressed gratitude for the outreach, commending NFSAN Kwara for their thoughtful gesture and offering prayers for the association’s leadership.
The students also shared their appreciation, with the head girl delivering a thank-you speech.
Other NFSAN Kwara executives present included Comrade Oladimeji Ruth, Director of Administration and Planning; Comrade Olawumi Basirat, Director of Primary and Secondary School Students; Comrade Onikoko Baliqees, Director of Anti-Social Vices; and Comrade Coker Odunayo, Director of Programmes.
