The Foundation for Community Development (MOK Foundation) has displayed inclusivity and empathy as the Foundation took a significant step towards empowering persons with disabilities. The foundation has not only welcomed individuals with disabilities as members but has also donated an additional N200,000 to Joint National Association Of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) their mother association in Oyun and Offa LGAs.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to promote equal opportunities, social integration, and economic empowerment among persons with disabilities. By providing financial support and a sense of belonging, MOK Foundation is helping to break down barriers and challenge societal stereotypes.

The foundation’s membership expansion and donation ceremony, held on Saturday, July 20, was attended by representatives of the MOK Foundation, persons with disabilities, and community leaders. The event was marked by inspirational stories, tears of joy, and a renewed sense of hope.

“We believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities and a chance to thrive,” said Mr. Lawal Saheed, Director of MOK Foundation. “Our initiative is designed to support and empower persons with disabilities, helping them to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.” this is one of the many reasons we have registered them fully as members of the MOK Foundation, the genuineness of their membership will give them access to various intervention programs by the Foundation.

The additional N200,000 donated to the associations will be used to support various projects, including education, skills training, and advocacy programs. This will enable persons with disabilities to acquire new skills, access better healthcare, and advocate for their rights, it should be noted that the MOK Foundation had previously donated N600,000 to JONAPWD members in Oyun and Offa Local government areas, Mr. Saheed concluded.

Speaking to pressmen at the venue, the JONAPWD chairman in Offa Local government appreciates the founder of MOK Foundation, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode MOK, he said
“We are deeply grateful to MOK Foundation for their kindness and generosity. Their decision to welcome persons with disabilities as members and provide additional funding to our associations is a testament to their commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. This support will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals and improve the lives of our members. We applaudthe MOK Foundation for their compassion and dedication to creating a more equitable society.”

MOK Foundation’s inclusivity initiative has been hailed as a beacon of hope for persons with disabilities, who often face marginalization and exclusion. By recognizing their potential and providing support, the foundation is helping to create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
