Today, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) disbursed compensation cheques to tenants and property owners affected by the Quality Bus Corridor (QBC) project in the Ketu, Alapere, and Akanimodo areas. The QBC Package 1C project, a 4.7-kilometer stretch from Ketu to Akanimodo, aims to improve public transportation in the area and Lagos generally significantly. Key components of the project include the construction of 10 laybys, the renovation of six junctions, and the modernization of the Mile 12 terminal. The Lagos State Government and the French Development Agency (AFD) are jointly funding the project
During the cheque presentation ceremony, Engr. Osa Konyeha, Technical Adviser, Corporate and Investment Planning at LAMATA, thanked the affected individuals for their cooperation. He emphasized that the project, once completed, will benefit all Lagosians.
Key stakeholders attended the event, including Engr. Oluwakemi Ochie and Olukayode Sallu from the Roads & Infrastructure department at LAMATA, Mrs. Ibironke Omorhirhi social development specialist at LAMATA, Engr. Babatunde Osho, Managing Director of Global Impact Environmental Consulting Limited, and Mr. Victor Aibange, General Manager of Multiple Development Services.
