300 level students of English and Literary Studies of Kwara State University, Malete are adapting Ahmed Yerima’s play “Owiwi” on June 14th.

The play will be adapted on stage by group 3 to fulfill the requirement of ENG 318 Advance Theatre Practice at the Mini Convocation Arena.

The battle line will be drawn between a fierce Witch who wants to be the king of the land while the king is alive, Eewo!!

A power tussle between Fadelola and Oba Idele will be staged at Kwara State University, Malete Mini Convocation Arena, on the 14th of June, 2024 by 3pm.

It is an adaptation of Ahmed Yerima’ Owiwi. The play clustered two worlds in one person. Adunni, the Iya-ewe and third-in-command in the witch coven, is on the other hand a devoted christian in the physical world.

In this tumult of Adunni’s two worlds, Fadelola and King Idele fight for the Kingship of the land.

What will happen to the two worlds of Adunni?

Will the Aje rule the Kingdom?

Will Oba Idele be dethroned for Olori Aje Fadelola to rule the Kingdom?
