The Federal Government in partnership with the Kwara State Government through the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) are set for the flag-off of the National Animal Identification and Traceability System (NAITS) in the State.
NAITS is a comprehensive animal information management system that utilises forgery-proof ear tags, cattle passports combined with digital technology for the identification and tracing of livestock across Nigeria.
According to the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, the State Governor and Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq (CON) will be the Chief Host while the Hon. Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari will be the Special Guest of Honour at the flag-off event.
The event is scheduled to hold at the M&M Event Centre, Offa Road GRA, Ilorin. On Wednesday 10th, July, 2024 by 10:00am in the morning.
Expected at the ceremony are; National Coordinator for L-PRES Project, Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar, Federal Director of Animal Husbandry Services, Dr. Winnie Lai-Solarin, State Executive Council, State House of Assembly Members, Traditional Rulers, Security Agencies and Stakeholders in livestock value chain among others
